Jewelry Care

How to keep your pieces looking their best

Jewelry can experience discoloration over time due to exposure to moisture, chemicals, and air. Our pieces are crafted from quality metals with high-grade plating, yet they may still show normal wear and tear over time. This is not considered a manufacturing fault.

Understanding the materials used in your jewelry will help you care for each piece properly and extend its beauty for years to come.

Our Materials

925 Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is a classic precious metal composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (typically copper) to add strength and durability. The "925" hallmark is the industry standard for genuine sterling silver. While beautiful and lustrous, sterling silver naturally tarnishes when exposed to air, moisture, and certain chemicals — this is a normal characteristic of the metal, not a defect. Regular cleaning and proper storage will keep it gleaming.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a highly durable, hypoallergenic metal known for its resistance to rust, tarnishing, and corrosion. It is an excellent choice for everyday wear, as it holds up well against moisture and light exposure to chemicals. While stainless steel is one of the most resilient jewelry materials, it can still scratch over time and may lose its shine with heavy use.

14k & 18k Gold Plating

Gold-plated jewelry features a base metal (such as sterling silver, stainless steel or brass) coated with a layer of real gold. The karat number refers to the purity of the gold used in the plating: 14k contains approximately 58% pure gold, while 18k contains 75% pure gold. Higher karat plating offers a richer, deeper gold tone. Over time, gold plating can fade or wear through, particularly with frequent contact with skin, sweat, or chemicals. To preserve the plating, avoid wearing your pieces during activities that expose them to harsh conditions.

Rhodium Plating

Rhodium is a rare precious metal from the platinum family, known for its striking bright white finish and exceptional resistance to tarnish and scratching. Rhodium plating is commonly applied over sterling silver or white gold to enhance brilliance and provide a protective layer. Although rhodium is highly durable, the plating can gradually wear away with regular use, particularly on high-contact areas like ring bands. Re-plating is a straightforward process that can restore your jewelry's original shine.

Care Tips

Follow these simple tips to extend the life and beauty of your jewelry:

Give your jewelry occasional breaks — avoid wearing the same pieces every day.

Store pieces in your dust bag or jewelry box when not in use to prevent oxidation, scratching, and chains from tangling.

Wipe your jewelry with a soft jewelry cloth after each use to remove oils and residue.

Keep away from chemicals — including perfume, hairspray, cleaning products, and especially hand cream.

Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, or any water activities.

Take off all jewelry before exercising to avoid exposure to sweat and impact.

Do not sleep in your jewelry.

If your pieces come into contact with moisture, wipe them completely dry as soon as possible.

Wait for any hand cream or face cream to fully absorb into your skin before putting on jewelry.

Handle your pieces gently — avoid knocking them against hard surfaces or letting them rub against each other.
