Our plain stainless steel pieces are generally well-tolerated by people with sensitive skin and are considered hypoallergenic. Sterling silver and gold-plated pieces (including gold-plated sterling silver and gold-plated stainless steel) may contain trace alloys that could cause reactions in people with metal sensitivities. If you have a known allergy, we recommend checking the materials listed on each product page before purchasing, or contacting us for advice.
Gold plating can fade gradually with regular wear, particularly when exposed to sweat, moisture, perfume, or chemicals. The rate of fading depends on how often the piece is worn and how well it is cared for. Following our care tips will significantly extend the life of the plating.
Our plain stainless steel pieces are nickel-free. Gold-plated jewelry — whether on a sterling silver or stainless steel base — may contain trace amounts of nickel or other alloys in the plating layer. We recommend checking the individual product descriptions or reaching out to us if you have a specific sensitivity, so we can advise on the safest option for you.
The hallmark 925 indicates that the metal is composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, typically copper, added to improve strength and durability. It is the internationally recognised standard for genuine sterling silver.

Care & maintenance
Gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry jewelry cloth after each wear to remove oils and residue. For a deeper clean, use a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly immediately after. Avoid using harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the plating or metal.
Store each piece separately in a jewelry box or dust bag to prevent scratching, tangling, and oxidation. Keep your jewelry away from direct sunlight, heat, and humid environments such as bathrooms. Airtight pouches are especially good for slowing down tarnishing on sterling silver.
We strongly advise against it. Water, soap, shampoo, chlorine, and saltwater can all accelerate tarnishing and wear down plating. Always remove your jewelry before showering, bathing, or swimming to keep it looking its best for longer.
Returns & warranty
In accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive and Dutch law, you have the right to withdraw from your order within 14 days of receiving your item, without needing to provide a reason. The 14-day withdrawal period begins on the day you receive the product.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, please notify us within this period by emailing us at hello@ofinie.com or by filling in the contact form on our website. We will then guide you through the return process.

We offer a 1-year warranty on all items with valid proof of purchase. The warranty covers manufacturing faults only, such as broken clasps, defective closures, or structural issues that are not the result of normal use. It does not cover general wear and tear, tarnishing, fading of plating, or damage caused by improper care.
To make a warranty claim, please contact us at hello@ofinie.com with your order number and clear photos of the issue. Our team will review your claim and, if approved, arrange a replacement at our discretion. Claims must be made within the 1-year warranty period from the date of purchase.
